Our Story

I’m Abbey Scholten, an event and hospitality professional proud to call Bozeman, Montana home. Long before Westbound Events took shape, my love for hosting and gathering began in the tourism-driven corners of Northern Michigan. There, between catering kitchens, floral studios, and a tucked-away private vacation club, I learned what it meant to welcome people with intention.

Montana refined that vision. At Montana State University, I studied Hospitality Management with a Business Administration minor, grounding my craft in both skill and stewardship. Beyond the classroom, I was fortunate to learn alongside some of the region’s most respected planners - Bijou Event by Design, ELM Events Co., and Thinkstream - each offering a different lens on thoughtful design, precise coordination, and the quiet details that make guests feel truly thought of. Those years shaped not just how I plan events, but why I do. They taught me that gatherings, whether a deeply personal wedding or a polished corporate retreat, deserve a level of attention that feels both intimate and assured.

Westbound Events was born from that belief. Rooted in Montana’s rugged elegance and guided by a sincere desire to hear and honor each client’s vision, I’m here to craft experiences that feel effortless, meaningful, and uniquely yours.
